Elva Baltic, in cooperation with Microsoft, in July and August this year has created the Summer Academy of Information Technologies Microsoft Dynamics NAV for students. It was conceived as a professional management training for the best professionals of the industry, acquiring knowledge and practical skills in working with Microsoft Dynamics NAV.

Elva Baltic invited to apply for the programming direction those students who are studying in final year at Bachelor’s or Master’s degree.  Students were offered an opportunity to improve skills, obtain a certificate of training, as well as the best of them were offered the opportunity to sign an employment contract.

“Programme of Management of Enterprise’s Resources Microsoft Dynamics NAV is a wide range of products, which is used around the world. Our business in the past year was also developing very quickly, so we feel an increased need for new specialists in this field. It is the selection of new and active professionals that served as the main purpose for the creation of this Academy”, so justifies the company’s intention to provide free refresher training for students Chairman of the Board of Elva Baltic Janis Dambergs.

This year 30 students from various high schools in Latvia applied for training. From these applicants Elva Baltic commission of experts after the selection of documents and interview has chosen 10 participants of Summer Academy, whose motivation and preparedness was the most relevant to the planned training.

“Accepted students had no initial knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics NAV. Our developed training course was intense and included a large amount of information. Taking into account the short period of time that was given to students to look into this programme, I must say that the results shown in the end of training are quite satisfactory and we are happy for them”, so commented the training process the teacher of Summer Academy, Elva Baltic Technical Director Arthur Gedvillo.

All students of the Summer Academy Microsoft Dynamics NAV welcome the offered by Elva Baltic opportunity to participate in training courses. Students find it a good opportunity to improve their skills and thus enhance the competitiveness in the labour market. They also recognize that this type of training increases the youth’s interest in the IT industry as a whole.

After the course the students received certificates confirming their knowledge – both theoretical and practical – in the field of Microsoft Dynamics NAV. As it was pointed out by A.Gedvillo the above certificates will be recognized not only in Latvia but also abroad, thereby further increasing the competition of students in the labour market.

Elva Baltic is sure that such a measure is very useful for the development of IT industry. Since this initiative from participants of Summer Academy was highly evaluated, the company intends to continue such activities, expanding also the cooperation with Latvian high schools and giving lectures there.
